"The most disturbing aspect of this entire situation is that the specific concert—the event—was funded by the European Union and the Danish Cultural Center. When a cultural center funds a lack of culture—and, beyond that, funds fascism—it is, of course, an absolutely inconceivable occurrence," stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in response to a journalist's question regarding the cancellation of the Kordz concert.

According to him, this is an act that encourages "liberal fascism," which is a tragic development. "These are precisely the methods Ms. Gigauri spoke about—Soviet-style methods. The European bureaucracy is now operating using such Soviet methods; it is truly astounding and inconceivable to organize a concert for someone who incites fascism. This is, of course, a political act—an act that fosters fascism, specifically 'liberal fascism'—and it is a tragic development. I hope that processes within the European bureaucracy will take a different course and that, in the coming years, it will completely abandon these methods—these Soviet-style methods," the Prime Minister noted.
