50 Illegal Foreign Nationals Detained

Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Migration Department have conducted special immigration control operations across the country. The Ministry released this information.

"As a result of these comprehensive measures, 50 illegal foreign nationals were detained, including citizens of Nigeria, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, China, Thailand, Russia, India, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Egypt.

During the special immigration control operations, department officers inspected specific locations and various types of facilities to identify foreign nationals present in Georgia without legal authorization.

It was determined that the detained individuals were in the country in violation of the requirements established by the Law of Georgia 'On the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons.'

The detained individuals have currently been placed in the Migration Department's Temporary Accommodation Center." "Relevant procedures are underway to expel them from the country," the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
