    The Prime Minister is a sought-after interlocutor for high-ranking officials – Gia Volski

    Gia Volski, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, commented on Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stating that even a brief conversation between high-ranking officials within the framework of an international forum is significant.

    "Meeting—or even just exchanging a few words or views briefly—at such a high-level international forum is quite important. Delegations and heads of delegations do not meet only when there is an evident confrontation between them," Volski stated.

    He added that meetings between Kobakhidze and the U.S. President and Secretary of State have taken place on multiple occasions, and such communication is a common occurrence at international forums. "Our country's Prime Minister has no reason or grounds to fabricate anything regarding this matter. He is a sought-after interlocutor for many people—including high-ranking officials and top-level dignitaries participating in various forums," he noted.

    Volski stated that while issues might not be discussed in depth during a brief conversation, such communication fosters a certain atmosphere.

    "And that atmosphere is positive. Any positive atmosphere creates the conditions for hysteria within the ranks of our opponents," Volski declared.

    Notably, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that during his visit to the UN, he had the opportunity to hold brief conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

    He added that during the conversation, he emphasized Georgia's desire to restore the U.S.-Georgia strategic partnership. "We have taken a step and are awaiting reciprocal steps," Kobakhidze said, noting that both meetings proceeded in a positive atmosphere.
