I consider it justified for people to avail themselves of this opportunity—an opportunity that arose not through the goodwill of "Georgian Dream," but rather through the involvement of the Patriarch of Georgia and representatives of the Patriarchate — Lasha Parulava
Lasha Parulava, a leader of the "National Movement," commented on the request for a plea bargain made by Murtaz Zodelava, Lasha Beridze, and Guri Zhvania—individuals convicted in the "October 4" case.
Parulava stated that the October 4 rally was peaceful and that seeking a plea bargain is an individual decision for each person involved.
He added that, given the absence of an independent judicial and investigative system in the country, the convicted individuals should take advantage of the available opportunity. "The rally on October 4th was peaceful. As for what decisions individuals might make, that is a personal matter. When there is no independent judiciary in the country—a fact acknowledged even by Irakli Gharibashvili, who served twice as Prime Minister and once as Defense Minister under 'Georgian Dream'—and when there is no independent investigative system or court, I consider it justified for people to avail themselves of this opportunity. This opportunity arose not through the goodwill of 'Georgian Dream,' but through the involvement of the Georgian Patriarch and representatives of the Patriarchate—an opportunity that everyone should utilize," stated Pharulava.
He added that this opportunity was created through the involvement of the Patriarchate and Shio III personally.
"This is an opportunity that has emerged. Everyone remembers the 'zero-empathy' paradigm that Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about. This opportunity was created through the involvement of the Patriarchate—specifically, the personal involvement of Shio III. I will not get into the matter of mutual accusations. What matters most is expressing gratitude to Patriarch Shio III," noted Lasha Pharulava.
