Every resolution adopted by the European Parliament regarding Georgia is not even worth the paper it is printed on – Archil Gorduladze

Archil Gorduladze, Chairman of the Parliament's Legal Issues Committee, commented on the upcoming debate and resolution concerning Georgia in the European Parliament.

He stated that the resolutions recently adopted by the European Parliament regarding Georgia hold no practical significance.

"Empirical experience shows that every resolution—without exception—adopted by the European Parliament regarding Georgia in recent times is not even worth the paper it is printed on.

We have the exact same expectation regarding the new resolution. It will be yet another attack on Georgia's sovereignty by people backed by a force that wants Georgia to be used as a proxy state," Gorduladze said. According to the European Parliament's agenda, a debate titled "Attempts by the ruling party, Georgian Dream, to ban opposition parties in Georgia" will be held on October 7.

The debate will begin at 19:00 local time. Members of the European Parliament will vote on a resolution regarding the issue on October 8.
