Zurab Girchi Japaridze Detained at Turkish Airport

Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change," has issued a statement regarding his detention at a Turkish airport.

As the politician writes on social media, he has been banned from entering Turkey since November 2025.

"I was flying to Brussels today; I was supposed to participate in a leaders' summit at the invitation of Renew Europe. I had to change airlines in Turkey. I was detained at the border.

As it was explained to me, I have a ban on entering Turkey effective from November 2025. They have received information about me from official Georgian authorities. They are sending me back to Tbilisi tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately, I have lost the opportunity for important meetings. Nothing else to worry about," writes Japaridze.
