I would be very interested to hear and observe how various opposition parties defend themselves in the Constitutional Court – Zviad Shalamberidze

Zviad Shalamberidze, an MP from the "Georgian Dream" party, commented on the commencement of proceedings regarding a constitutional lawsuit seeking the banning of opposition parties. He stated that he would be interested to hear how these opposition parties defend their positions during the court proceedings.

"For instance, I would be very interested to hear and observe how a given opposition party defends itself in the Constitutional Court against the specific facts we have presented in this lawsuit. If any of them choose not to do so, it would simply amount to hiding and evading the responsibilities they have borne for years toward Georgian society—and, specifically, toward their own voters. Therefore, I would certainly like to see them participate, and for the process itself to be conducted in a proper manner," Shalamberidze stated. For your information, the Constitutional Court is beginning to review a constitutional claim filed by "Georgian Dream" seeking the banning of opposition parties. Court hearings are scheduled for October 21, 22, and 23.
