Turkish Citizen Wanted via Interpol Red Notice Arrested in Batumi

As a result of a joint operation, officers from the Main Division for Combating Organized Crime (under the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia) and the Adjara Main Division arrested a citizen of the Republic of Turkey who was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the individual was wanted at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities on charges related to the illegal trafficking, supply, or distribution of narcotic substances.

Law enforcement officers apprehended the wanted individual in Batumi following investigative actions.

Extradition procedures, as provided for by law, are currently underway regarding the detainee.
