We call upon the international community to take action and adopt decisive measures to prevent the destruction of democracy, pluralism, and pro-European political parties in a state that is a candidate for EU membership – Grigol Gegelia

According to Grigol Gegelia, a member of the "Strong Georgia – Lelo" coalition, the party is reaching out—through official diplomatic channels—to political institutions in the European Union and the United States, as well as the broader international community, urging them to take effective steps to safeguard democracy in Georgia.

Gegelia stated that the party is working to protect the interests and the right to choose of Georgian citizens in relation to a constitutional lawsuit; he warned that if this lawsuit is upheld, it would cause immense harm to the citizens of Georgia.

"We officially call upon the international community to take action and adopt decisive measures to prevent the destruction of democracy, pluralism, and pro-European political parties in a state that is a candidate for EU membership," said Gegelia. In his assessment, the process of banning opposition parties is an action directed not only against the political associations themselves but also against the will expressed by their voters.

"The dissolution of a political party entails not just the elimination of the party, but the nullification and rejection of the political will expressed by its voters—effectively declaring at least half of the nation unconstitutional," he noted.

According to Gegelia, the European Union firmly supports the Georgian people and the country's European future. He further emphasized the importance of the international community translating its political support into concrete action, as Georgia—in his view—is currently under a hybrid attack.

Furthermore, Gegelia urged members and supporters of "Georgian Dream," as well as representatives of the system, to recognize the responsibility that comes with participating in this process. He stated that those involved in formalizing a dictatorship will not be able to escape political and legal accountability. "The struggle for a free, democratic Georgia is this nation's historical struggle—one in which it has never been defeated, and will not be defeated now either," stated Grigol Gegelia.
