The United States Assists in Strengthening Georgia’s Border Security – U.S. Embassy in Georgia

"The United States is assisting in the strengthening of Georgia’s border security," the U.S. Embassy in Georgia stated on social media.

The Embassy’s statement notes that the opening of the "Mamisoni" border sector in the Racha region will facilitate border patrolling.

"The United States is assisting in the strengthening of Georgia’s border security. Acting Ambassador Courtney Austrian attended the opening of the 'Mamisoni' border sector—part of the Java-Oni Division—which was constructed with support from the U.S. European Command. The new sector will facilitate border patrolling in Racha and demonstrates our unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Embassy’s statement reads.
