Volodymyr Zelenskyy states that Donald Trump is trying to force Ukraine to capitulate to Russia
According to Bloomberg, Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims that Donald Trump is attempting to compel Ukraine to capitulate to Russia.
"I think steps have been taken to persuade Ukraine to capitulate. I am not saying that this is the goal our partners are trying to achieve. I do not want to believe that our American partners think the ongoing war against Russia can be ended more quickly at Ukraine's expense. However, that is exactly how it looks," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Bloomberg.
He noted that he had been willing to agree to Trump's request to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries in exchange for Patriot air defense missiles; however, the U.S. is delaying the delivery of these missiles—which are used to intercept Russian ballistic missiles—for the Patriot air defense system. According to Zelenskyy, the U.S. currently supplies Ukraine with only 12 Patriot system missiles per month—approximately one-fourth of the amount provided during the Joe Biden administration.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian president stated that under the Trump administration, Ukraine is purchasing these missiles, whereas Biden provided them free of charge as part of military aid.
