Police in Tbilisi Arrest Individual on Charges of Theft

Officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department (under the Ministry of Internal Affairs) have arrested one individual on charges of theft. This information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

"The investigation established that the accused surreptitiously entered several residential apartments in the Saburtalo district of Tbilisi on different occasions and unlawfully took possession of various high-value items.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers apprehended the perpetrator.

During searches, the police recovered a portion of the stolen items as material evidence. Law enforcement also seized tools that had been used to commit the crimes.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 177 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment," the MIA stated.
