Batumi Named Europe’s Leading Four-Season Tourist Destination
Batumi has once again secured a prestigious World Travel Awards honor, being named Europe’s Leading Four-Season Tourist Destination for 2026. At this major global tourism industry event, Batumi competed against renowned cities such as Salzburg, Stockholm, Budapest, Geneva, Munich, Oslo, and Tallinn. This marks the fourth time Batumi has received this World Travel Awards distinction since 2023. The World Travel Awards ceremony also recognized the best European tourism destinations, countries, hotels, travel agencies, tourist attractions, and transport companies. This year, Portugal was named Europe’s Leading Tourism Destination, Turkish Airlines was recognized as the Leading Airline, Athens was selected as the best city for tourism, and the Algarve was named the best beach destination.
Since 2019, Batumi has received prestigious World Travel Awards in various categories, including as Europe’s fastest-growing tourism destination and as a year-round (four-season) tourism destination—both in Europe and globally. The World Travel Awards have been held since 1993. The awards feature hundreds of nominations and thousands of nominees, categorized by continent and country.
