Two Individuals Arrested for Creating and Distributing Forged Tax Documents

Officers from the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested two individuals for the creation and distribution of forged tax documents, following operational-search measures and investigative actions.

The investigation established that, with the intent of obtaining illicit financial gain, the accused—utilizing a company registered in the name of one of them—created and distributed forged waybills and tax invoices. These documents falsely purported to represent the supply of polyethylene crates valued at 176,000 GEL. In exchange for these actions, they unlawfully demanded and received 49,300 GEL.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 210, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years.

This information was released by the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
