"No one has the right to interfere with the independence of the judiciary—which is what these specific individuals, these bureaucrats, are attempting to do. This is a very regrettable development and stands in direct opposition to traditional European values," Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated to journalists.
The Head of Government urged everyone to refrain from interfering with the independent judiciary.
"I urge everyone to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from interfering with our independent judiciary. They should read the lawsuit, then read the ruling, and only on that basis should they offer any legal commentary. Making political comments is, quite simply, nothing more than crude political interference in the independence of the judiciary," the Prime Minister noted.
