A very good morning is dawning — an autocracy allied with the Russians has fallen in Serbia. Russia and the Ivanishvili regime have lost yet another ally — this is how Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of "Strong Georgia – Lelo," reacts to the defeat of Aleksandar Vučić in the Serbian elections. "In 2020, as a result of a parliamentary boycott, opposition parties in Serbia found themselves sidelined from political processes. In the short term, this strengthened Vučić.

However, in recent years, public protest has transformed into a political movement.

This movement succeeded in securing snap elections and brought an end to Vučić’s rule.

The Ivanishvili regime should draw two conclusions from this:

Autocracy always stands on feet of clay; it is difficult to predict when or what might cause it to collapse—only that a collapse is inevitable.

You can ban parties, but you cannot ban the people. Ultimately, only the people can restore democracy.

They could also draw a third conclusion—one that I will certainly share after the midterm elections in America," writes Salome Samadashvili.

According to the latest data from Ipsos/CeSID, the 'Student List' secured 52.9% of the vote in Serbia's parliamentary elections, while Aleksandar Vučić’s 'Serbian Progressive Party' received 38.8%. According to these data, the "Student List" will hold 141 seats in Serbia's 250-member parliament, while Vučić's party will hold 103. The remaining six seats in the new parliament will be distributed among the other four parties.
