Two Defendants Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Premeditated Murder Committed Under Aggravating Circumstances

Based on evidence presented by the Prosecutor's Office, two defendants have been sentenced to life imprisonment for premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances. The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia has released information regarding this case.

According to the agency, the defendants—acting with extreme cruelty and in the presence of the victim's spouse—shot the victim with a firearm and fled the scene. The victim died as a result of the injuries sustained. The Mtskheta District Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor's Office and found two defendants guilty of intentional homicide committed under aggravating circumstances.

Evidence examined during the trial confirmed that on March 10, 2026, in the village of Baga, Dusheti Municipality, the defendants—motivated by revenge and acting with particular cruelty—shot the victim with a firearm in the presence of the victim's spouse, and subsequently fled the scene. The victim died as a result of the injury sustained. Furthermore, the defendants endangered the life and health of the deceased's spouse, who was present at the scene.

Law enforcement officers arrested the defendants on March 14. They were charged under Article 109, subparagraphs "b," "i," "m," and "p" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional homicide committed by means endangering the lives and health of others, by a group, with particular cruelty, and on more than one occasion). "The court found both defendants guilty of the charges brought against them and sentenced both to life imprisonment," the statement reads.
