Italian Ambassador Discusses Strengthening Georgia-Italy Economic Cooperation with Business Community
Massimiliano D’Antuono, the Italian Ambassador to Georgia, discussed opportunities for deepening trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Georgia and Italy with representatives of the business community.
The Ambassador attended an event organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia (AmCham Georgia), which was dedicated to the development of economic relations between the two countries. He was hosted by Irakli Baidashvili, President of the American Chamber of Commerce.
D’Antuono highlighted the close ties between Italy and Georgia, which are rooted in a long-standing friendship, mutual respect, and economic cooperation. He noted that, in terms of trade relations, Italy is Georgia’s second-largest partner among European nations.
The Ambassador also spoke about Italian capabilities in sectors such as infrastructure, transport, energy, construction, food production, and innovation. "Our goal is to facilitate the expansion of economic relations between Italy and Georgia, strengthen ties between the business communities of both countries, and foster new partnerships—particularly in sectors where there is a growing demand for high quality and international expertise," stated D’Antuono.
The event included a discussion featuring representatives from AmCham Georgia, the Italian-Georgian Chamber of Commerce (ITAGEO), and the broader business community. During the meeting, the participants explored prospects for sharing experience, developing bilateral relations, and deepening trade and economic ties between Georgia and Italy.
