One Person Arrested for Possession of a Large Quantity of Excise-Free Cigarettes

Officers from the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested one individual for the possession of an especially large quantity of excise-free cigarettes.

According to the Investigative Service, 4,930 packs of cigarettes of various brands were seized from the accused's residence. The total market value of the confiscated goods amounts to 27,608 GEL.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a penalty of 6 to 8 years of imprisonment.
