Italian Ambassador Hosts Giffoni Delegation
Massimiliano D’Antuono, the Italian Ambassador to Georgia, hosted a delegation from Giffoni—the renowned festival for children’s and youth films—at the Italian Embassy. The delegation was in Georgia to participate in the "Taoba" (Generation) International Youth Film Festival.
This year marked the ninth edition of the "Taoba" International Youth Film Festival. The festival’s primary participants and jury members are young people aged 13 to 18 from various countries around the world, who evaluate the films presented in the competition program.
The festival also offers young people the opportunity to meet directors, actors, and other professionals from the film industry.
Over the course of the six-day festival, the program featured competitive film screenings, masterclasses, and various meetings. Four Italian films were included in the competition. The goal of the events was to share experiences and discover new perspectives and opportunities through the universal language of cinema.
During a meeting with the Giffoni delegation and its head, Damiano La Salvia, Italian Ambassador Massimiliano D’Antuono spoke about the importance of young people’s active engagement in cultural life. The Ambassador also highlighted the significance of the connections formed through the exchange of diverse cultures, ideas, and experiences.
