"In the modern global world, where threats are often invisible, asymmetric, and multidimensional, it is precisely professional diplomacy and a flexible, far-sighted foreign policy that constitute a country’s first line of defense," stated the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, while addressing an audience gathered at the State Ceremonies Palace on the occasion of Diplomat’s Day. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, the Speaker of Parliament, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the executive and legislative branches, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Mikheil Kavelashvili congratulated Georgian diplomats on their professional day and spoke about the historical significance of the country’s diplomacy, as well as the challenges present in the contemporary international environment. According to Mikheil Kavelashvili, the history of Georgia is a path defined by constant diplomatic struggle and strategic maneuvering. For centuries, the country has been situated at the intersection of the interests of the world’s greatest empires and civilizations. To preserve its state continuity, Christian spirituality, and national identity, the Georgian people required not only courage on the battlefield but also diplomatic wisdom, strategic patience, and deliberate action.

The President of Georgia focused on the contemporary geopolitical situation, the processes surrounding the transformation of the international security architecture, ongoing wars within the region and beyond, as well as growing ideological polarization and technological threats. "We stand on the threshold of the formation of a new multipolar world order, where every word, every position, and every diplomatic move directly determines the security, prosperity, and peaceful future of our state." According to Mikheil Kavelashvili, under these circumstances, the mission of Georgian diplomats is to advance Georgia's national interests and to strengthen the country's reputation as a reliable, peace-oriented, strategic, and responsible partner.

On behalf of the state, the President of Georgia thanked the diplomats for their patriotism, high level of professionalism, and selfless service.
