Appropriate measures will be applied to all those who confess and repent; they will all leave the penitentiary institution – Irakli Kobakhidze
"Appropriate measures will be applied to all those who confess and repent; they will all leave the penitentiary institution" – this is what the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, told journalists.
According to the Prime Minister, if individuals repent and confess, the principle of the rule of law will be upheld, while at the same time, these individuals will be able to leave the penitentiary institutions.
"I welcome repentance and confession. In such a case, our promise naturally remains in effect. Appropriate measures will be applied to all those who confess and repent; they will all leave the penitentiary institution. For me, this is entirely welcome. Of course, keeping someone in a penitentiary institution is not an end in itself for us. Our goal—our ultimate objective—is the enforcement of the rule of law. Therefore, if individuals repent and confess, the principle of the rule of law will be upheld, and, on the other hand, these individuals will leave the institutions. This is our call," stated the Prime Minister.
