"We have witnessed an attempt at political interference in constitutional justice, and now there is an attempt to politicize the matter by invoking the Strasbourg Court. This is inappropriate; politicians should refrain from commenting on constitutional justice," Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists.

He added that the grounds for declaring political parties unconstitutional are clear and evident. "First and foremost, everyone should observe how the proceedings unfold in the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court must be the one to reach a decision. We have witnessed an attempt at political interference in constitutional justice, and now there is an attempt to politicize the matter further by invoking the Strasbourg Court. This is inappropriate. Politicians should refrain from commenting on constitutional justice—or the justice system in general. That is not their role; their role is simply to observe how events unfold. If they have legal assessments to offer, they should present them specifically in relation to the case at hand—rather than issuing blunt political statements.

The legal reasoning behind the claim is so clear and compelling that we are, naturally, prepared for any outcome. Setting aside the purely legal arguments for a moment, we can all recall that in 2012—when the elections took place and the 'National Movement' lost—the regime at the time attempted to reject the results of the very elections it had organized; you surely remember..." "Regarding the senators' statement: the senators met with Saakashvili, and it was only after receiving their messages that Mikheil Saakashvili acknowledged the results of the elections he himself had conducted. Then came the 2016 elections, when this 'collective National Movement' attempted to reject the results; the same occurred in 2020, and again in 2024. In each instance, this was done without any supporting arguments.

The grounds for declaring these parties unconstitutional are so clear that we stand on firm, unassailable ground. The only people raising questions are those who previously supported the 'Molotov cocktail' campaign. That is my simple answer. I am referring, in general, to the European bureaucracy—the very force that supported the use of Molotov cocktails—and these same individuals are now issuing political statements directed against constitutional justice," the Prime Minister noted.
