Today—right now, in fact—there are three individuals in a Georgian prison who attempted to burn another person alive using a so-called 'Molotov cocktail.' Yet, Brussels is now asking us to release these three people- Shalva Papuashvili
"We see that those who sought to normalize violence in Georgia are now witnessing violence become the norm in their own countries. This is the ultimate outcome," stated Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, while speaking to journalists in Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, the very violence that these perpetrators incited in Georgia is now returning home to them.
"Regarding the fact that an attempt to burn a human being alive is labeled an 'attempted murder' in France, while in Georgia it is framed as a 'just protest'—this is not merely a case of 'double standards.' The reality is that those from whom we expect condemnation are, in fact, the very ones inciting and supporting these actions. After all, they are hardly going to say anything negative about themselves, are they?
What is Brussels supposed to say—that storming the Presidential Palace is a bad thing?" If that were the case, then the European Commission spokesperson—who expressed support for the October 4th gathering aimed at overthrowing the government—should be fired. How can the EU Embassy claim that throwing so-called "Molotov cocktails" is wrong, when the Embassy itself funded the very campaign involving such devices? And what will they say—that hate speech is bad? Will this be stated by an EU Ambassador who pays the very people who spread malice and hatred throughout Georgia, and who dances to their tune? They are complicit in this; that is why they do not condemn it. They are the instigators and financiers of this violence, and they provide cover for it all. This is the unfortunate reality.
Regrettably, we see that Brussels—along with various other European capitals—has been involved in inciting and funding this violence in Georgia. Yet, we also see that the attempt to normalize violence in Georgia has resulted in that very behavior becoming the norm within their own countries. Ultimately, this is the outcome they have brought upon themselves. Whoever incites violence elsewhere eventually encounters violence at home. "Thus, the very violence that was being incited here is now returning home to the perpetrators themselves," stated Shalva Papuashvili.
According to him, Brussels currently acts as a supporter, financier, and instigator of violence and violent actors in Georgia.
"We are dealing with wrongdoers—whether it be the opposition, certain diplomats who shield them, or certain foreign capitals that provide them with cover. They constitute a single criminal faction—the very faction that incited Grigoriadis to throw his so-called 'Molotov cocktail.' Why focus on Grigoriadis, when three individuals are currently serving sentences for throwing so-called 'Molotov cocktails' during a separate violent protest—and yet the EU delegation in Georgia is demanding their release? Elsewhere, such acts are classified as attempted murder; meanwhile, the European Commission and other structures are asking us to release those who committed attempted murder. Brussels is complicit in this crime in Georgia—acting as an accomplice, a financier, and an enabler. Not only did they previously orchestrate a pardon for Lazare Grigoriadis by Salome Zourabichvili, but..." "At the time, it was stated in Brussels that this had been coordinated with them. The public knew nothing about it, yet it was claimed that Salome Zourabichvili’s decision to grant a pardon was made in agreement with them. Today—right now, in fact—there are three individuals in a Georgian prison who attacked another person by setting them on fire with a so-called 'Molotov cocktail,' and Brussels is now asking for the release of these three people. We must stop sugarcoating the situation and call things by their proper names: today, in Georgia, Brussels acts as a supporter, financier, and even an instigator of violence and violent individuals," stated Shalva Papuashvili.
