"Mr. Herczynski’s favorites are in disarray—which speaks to his own tragic situation; it is their 'patrons' who have brought this radical opposition to this point," stated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists.
According to the head of government, they had previously secured up to 785,000 votes in the parliamentary elections—yet they managed to squander even that level of support. "Mr. Herchinski’s favorites are in disarray—a fact that speaks to his own tragic predicament. It is their 'patrons' who have brought this radical opposition to such a state. Just look at the kind of people involved. When I consider the lineup currently gathered at the Constitutional Court—the individuals who make up this radical opposition—the situation appears truly tragic. It is hardly surprising that these people command zero trust from the Georgian public; they once secured up to 785,000 votes in the previous parliamentary elections, yet they have squandered even that level of support. In the local self-government elections, 'Lelo' saw its support halved, while Gakharia’s party saw its support shrink threefold—all because they betrayed their own voters. Consequently, they lost the public's trust—even the trust they had previously enjoyed, represented by those 785,000 votes. This is the current reality, and given these circumstances, the internal infighting—so clearly evident within this radical opposition, this network of foreign agents—is entirely logical," the Prime Minister stated.
