The proceedings in the Constitutional Court are directed against that segment of society which desires to see Georgia within the European family — Badri Japaridze

According to Badri Japaridze, a leader of "Lelo – Strong Georgia," the proceedings currently underway in the Constitutional Court—which seek the banning of opposition parties—are directed not only against political parties but also against the Western world and that part of society which supports a European future for Georgia.

Japaridze made these remarks following a meeting held between the leaders of "Strong Georgia – Lelo" and representatives from expert circles.

He stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear the views of these representatives regarding the proceedings currently taking place at the Constitutional Court in Batumi. "There is complete consensus between us and representatives of the public that this process is not merely aimed at the dissolution of political parties. It is a process directed against the Western, free world, as well as against those parties that wish to see Georgia within the European family.

This process is directed against the vast majority of the public—those who want Georgia to be part of the European family, and to be a sovereign, strong, and prosperous state.

The consequences of this process are already exerting a profoundly negative impact on our country. If the Constitutional Court validates what 'Georgian Dream' desires, our state and every single citizen will suffer irreparable harm.

The lawsuit filed by 'Georgian Dream' has nothing to do with the law. Our objective is to work together to prevent irreparable consequences for our country, our state, our independence, and every individual citizen," stated Badri Japaridze.
