Individual Arrested for the Murder of Two Brothers in Sagarejo

As a result of joint police operations, officers from the Kakheti Police Department and the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested an individual on charges of the intentional murder of two people under aggravating circumstances.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation established that on November 5 of this year, in a village within the Sagarejo Municipality, the accused—acting on the basis of a prior conflict—fired multiple shots from a firearm, wounding two individuals, before fleeing the scene. Both men subsequently died from their injuries.

"Following operational measures and investigative actions, law enforcement officers apprehended the perpetrator while in pursuit. The police have seized the weapon used in the crime as evidence.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 109 of the Criminal Code, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment," the statement notes.
