Nana Sander, who was arrested in connection with the events of October 4, has left the penitentiary institution.

Upon leaving the prison, she stated that she intends to continue her legal battle at the Strasbourg Court.

"A 13-month ordeal—involving both psychological and physical torture—has come to an end. Naturally, I am glad to be free, but I am deeply saddened by the fact that there are dozens of prisoners of conscience and political prisoners in jail who have been convicted unlawfully. The prisons are overflowing with children and adolescents. Human rights are being violated—not only in the women's prison but everywhere—and the problem is that there is no institution in this country to protect them," Sander declared.

A plea agreement was reached for Nana Sander, which was approved by Judge Paata Silagadze of the Tbilisi Court of Appeals.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sander was sentenced to one year and one month of imprisonment, followed by a two-year suspended sentence. As a reminder, on June 24, the Tbilisi City Court sentenced Nana Sanders to seven years in prison. She was charged with organizing group violence and calling for the overthrow of the state government.
