National Food Agency reveals illegal cheese factories in Samtredia and Van

The National Food Agency continues to reveal unregistered factories throughout Georgia, the agency said in a statement.

According to them, individual entrepreneur L.E. (address: Samtredia, village of Yaneti) was producing so-called cheese for further sale without registration in the Register of Economic Activities and recognition by the agency.

“Also, individual entrepreneur M.M. (address: Vani, village of Zedavani) was operating without the mandatory recognition granted by the National Food Agency.

In addition to the lack of registration, the facilities violated the requirements established by the food safety legislation, which is why business operators were fined and the production process was suspended,” the agency said.

The National Food Agency calls on business operators not to produce food without recognition and to carry out their activities only in compliance with the requirements established by law.
