Telavi to have new master plan for spatial planning - Government Administration
Telavi will have a new master plan for spatial planning, which will increase the economic and tourist potential of the city.
The main directions and concept of the master plan were agreed upon at a meeting held today at the Government Administration.
At the meeting, the State Representative of the Kakheti Region made a presentation on the main directions of the master plan. The plan includes all priority directions that are particularly important for the sustainable development of the municipality. These include the development of tourism infrastructure, promotion of cultural development, and the distribution of the city's administrative functions and state services, which will further increase the attractiveness of Telavi for both local and foreign visitors.
“The development of all municipalities should begin with the approval of the general plan. It is important that the tourism potential of Telavi be further developed and that the cultural life in the city be even more growing and interesting, especially for young people, both Georgian citizens and foreign guests,” said Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia.
The meeting was attended by members of the government and parliament, the state representative in the Kakheti region, representatives of various agencies and local authorities.
