US Central Command says military forces have carried out new strikes on Iran

US military forces have carried out new strikes on Iran, the US Central Command said.

The strikes targeted a military facility in the strategic port city of Bandar Abbas, the command said.

US Central Command said its forces also shot down four Iranian attack drones that posed a threat.

The facility in Bandar Abbas was hit as it was preparing to launch a fifth drone, the command said.

Iranian media reported that three explosions were heard in the early hours of the morning east of Bandar Abbas, a strategic Iranian port city and naval base on the Strait of Hormuz.

This is the second time in three days that the US has attacked targets in Iran. According to the Central Command, the strikes were carried out in self-defense.

Specifically, the command says that these actions were moderate, completely defensive in nature and aimed at maintaining the ceasefire.
