Ursula von der Leyen arrives in Armenia
Ursula von der Leyen has arrived in Armenia, Armenian media reported.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was met at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mehr Grigoryan.
“It is good that I have returned to Yerevan so soon. The recent elections have once again demonstrated the strength of Armenian democracy. Armenia continues its course of reforms and is moving closer to Europe. Therefore, I am here with a simple message: Armenia can count on us. We are with you,” Ursula von der Leyen wrote on social media.
As part of her visit to Yerevan, Ursula von der Leyen will hold talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
After the meeting, the Armenian Prime Minister and the European Commission President will make statements.
As a reminder, Ursula von der Leyen was in Azerbaijan yesterday, where she met with President Ilham Aliyev.
At a press conference after the meeting, the President of the European Commission announced that the European Union will invest 200 million euros in transport, energy and digital connections in the South Caucasus.
