Meeting Held at the Ministry of Health on Improving Patient Safety and the Quality of Medical Services

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health to discuss the improvement of patient safety and the quality of medical services.

Minister of Health Mikheil Sarjveladze met with representatives from the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Georgia and Athens offices.

WHO experts shared international experiences and approaches with the participants, specifically regarding the assessment of medical service quality and the assurance of patient safety. The discussion covered existing opportunities in this field and the prospects for their implementation in Georgia.

The parties agreed to continue their cooperation in these areas.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Tea Giorgadze, various department heads from the Ministry, the Head of the WHO Country Office in Georgia, Joao Breda, along with representatives from the Georgia office and experts from the Athens office who specialize in healthcare quality and patient safety.
