I`m not interested in holding any position, I do not want to sit in the office - Saakashvili`s interview with the Ukrainian TV channel
The new reality in the country - Mikheil Saakashvili assesses the situation in Ukraine after presidential elections. Upon arrival in Kiev, the third president of Georgia was a guest of several Ukrainian TV channels. The main topic of the conversation was the new president of Ukraine and the political situation in the country. Speaking to the media, Mikheil Saakashvili said that he is not interested in any public service in Ukraine and will not participate in the parliamentary elections either. He expressed his willingness to support the Ukrainian president and his team.
"Just two months ago we thought that the old faces would be permanent in the political life of the country and the situation changed radically as a result of the electoral revolution in Ukraine; I am sure that the President of Ukraine is independent of the influence and will not allow anyone except for Ukrainian people to interfere. We are all interested in his success, and Ukraine should make a leap. The changes should take place in a short period of time, and we should refuse the tradition as if the policy is a profitable business.
I"m not interested in holding any position or taking part in the parliamentary elections. I will never be in a conspiracy with any oligarch and will never make money in politics, I know what"s happening now in Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and Russia, and these countries are looking with hope up to Ukraine, - Mikheil Saakashvili stated.
