The National Center for Disease Control and Public Health is addressing citizens with recommendations regarding the hot summer days.

According to them, intestinal infections and the number of food poisonings increase during the summer, which is why it is necessary to follow several rules: storage of products, proper use, proper preparation, and clean hands.

“Proper storage of products involves placing raw and ready-to-eat food separately; ready-to-eat food should not be stored at room temperature for more than two hours. The safety of water and raw materials is no less important. Fruits, vegetables, and herbs should be thoroughly washed with running water before consumption. If you are not sure about the safety of drinking water, it should definitely be boiled,” the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health said in a statement.

The National Center for Disease Control reminds the population that personal hygiene is fundamental to preventing infections — frequent, thorough washing of hands with soap and water, especially before preparing food and eating.
