Mr. Ivanishvili attacked Omega Group - Fadi Asli
Bidzina Ivanishvili became the number one obstacle and liability for the business and investment climate in this country, - says the open letter addressed by the Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Chamber of Commerce in Georgia Fadi Asli to Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze.
According to Fadi Asli, this country is run by two powers: the official one - powerless authorities represented by some of the state officials and their team, who understand how to run this country and the unofficial one having real power represented by Bidzina Ivanishvili, which works according to the undeclared agenda not to allow the foreign investors in this country, but to cover large businesses with their tentacles, to remove men of business, whom they do not like.
“In the autumn of 2018, Mr. Ivanishvili boasted on TV that in 2017 he was behind the problems created to Philip Morris and British-American Tobacco; Georgia's international reputation paid dearly for this, throwing back this country. Bidzina Ivanishvili was forced to abandon his plans due to international pressure, which resulted in collapsing the Georgian judiciary. Mr. Ivanishvili attacked Omega Group; it was a horrific crime against human rights, a unique case of a collective punishment, damaging about 1500 employees and their family members. In the US Department of State Human Rights report as of 2018 the Chapter 4 clearly highlights the gross violation of human rights in Omega case”, - says the letter.
Fady Asli says that “Omega Group” will not be given the opportunity to continue its activities in a usual way. He will officially warn ICC's all National Committees on aggressive attacks, pressure and blackmail.
