Omega - splitting cigarette market – evidence proving racket by the government

This is the document that proves the fact of business racketeering by the government. Courier news program has obtained the statute, according to which the scheme of distribution of shares on cigarette market should be carried out and this was what the speakers in the recently released audio recording were talking about.

Omega – Splitting Cigarette Market – this is how the document is entitled. It was sent to the manager of Omega Group by e-mail from Lasha Kalandadze, the lawyer of Vano Chkhartishvili. This is the statute, which turned into a particular document after the scandalous meeting, where this scheme of racketeering was drawn on the blackboard. The statute describes in details how the shares among Omega Group, Tbilisi Tobacco and so-called Fund should be distributed. The fund – this is how the political party Georgian Dream was referred to by Irakli Chubinishvili in the same scandalous audio recording.

According to the document, the shares of Omega Group, which is the founder of TV Company Iberia, should be distributed according to the scheme, drawn on the blackboard by Irakli Chubinishvili and Vano Chkhartishvili on behalf of Bidzina Ivanishvili. 50% of the 100% of its shares should be transferred to the ruling party by means of its representative, which would be appointed as the financial director; with 25% of shares and full monopoly, Tbilisi Tobacco would join the company by means of its commercial director and Omega Group would have 25% of shares in the company and the position of director general, without the right of decisive vote.

This is not the only scandalous secret audio recording released during past few days around Iberia TV case, though the most controversial is the latest tape, where Vano Chkhartishvili and Irakli Chubinishvili urge Zaza Okuashvili to give up its television and business on behalf of Ivanishvili.

The prosecution is currently investigating the origin of the tape, which includes conversation between the former minister of sports, Levan Kipiani and the founder of Omega Group, Zaza Okuashvili, though the information about the links of the scheme to Bidzina Ivanishvili has not become the subject of prosecution’s interest yet.

The scandal of business and media terror has been on the top of political agenda during past few weeks, which has been objected by parliamentary and non-parliamentary opposition and NGOs. Member of the parliament, Nato Chkheidze, who defected from faction Patriots’ Alliance, publicly announced that the reason of her defection was the fact that this political party made no statement of protest regarding the governmental terror of business.
