Azerbaijani citizen arrested in Tbilisi on charges of attempted murder

Officers of the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, N.A., born in 1991, on charges of attempted murder.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the investigation revealed that the accused, on the basis of a mutual dispute in Tbilisi, inflicted injury to health on a foreign citizen, I.M., born in 1997, using a cold weapon, and fled the scene of the incident. The wounded man is being treated in a medical facility.

"As a result of the operational measures taken by the police, the accused was arrested hot on his trail shortly after the crime was committed. The investigation is underway under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years," the information states.
