    Irakli Kobakhidze Participates in a Roundtable Discussion on “Enhancing Connectivity and Economic Security” at the EPC Summit

    The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, participated in a roundtable discussion on “Enhancing Connectivity and Economic Security” at the 8th Summit of the European Political Union.

    According to the Georgian government, in his speech, Kobakhidze focused on Georgia’s special role in ensuring connectivity and spoke about the major infrastructure projects that the Georgian government is implementing to support this function, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, high-speed highways, and the Anaklia deep-sea port.

    Irakli Kobakhidze also emphasized the importance of diversifying transport and energy routes and, in this context, spoke about the strategic significance of the Southern Gas Corridor and the Black Sea Submarine Cable projects.

    According to the government, Irakli Kobakhidze once again confirmed his readiness to continue close cooperation with partners and noted that strong connectivity is one of the most important prerequisites for long-term stability.

    The discussion, co-chaired by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, was attended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davková, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu.
