`Georgian Public Broadcaster has become village office ,` - opposition joins protest rally
Politicians have joined the protest rally in support of the closed TV programs in front of Georgian Public Broadcaster. The opposition believes that the government has decided to restrict free speech.
"When I listen to these people the only opinion is that they do not understand what is the idea is of public broadcaster,"- said Nino Goduadze, the Political Secretary of Free Democrats/
Tamar Kordzaia, the political secretary of the Republican Party, says that the law is violated because Article 16 obliges the broadcaster to pay 25% of the airtime to the products produced by other companies.
