Zaza Okuashvili buys one of the best paintings at the exhibition dedicated to the World Down Syndrome Day
The exhibition dedicated to the World Down Syndrome Day was held at the Supreme Council Hall of the Adjara Autonomous Republic on the 21st of March. About 30 paintings and other handmade items created by the beneficiaries of the Tana Rehabilitation Center for the Persons with Disabilities and the Day Centre for the Persons with Disabilities operating within the Batumi Center for Education, Development and Employment, were exposed at today’s exhibition and one of the best paintings was bought by the representative of the Adjara Supreme Council MP, the member of the Healthcare and Social Affairs Committee, Zaza Okuashvili – 300 GEL has been transferred to the Day Centre as a result of this charity.
The event with the slogan “My Voice in the Society“ was attended by the members of the Adjara Supreme Council, the Minister of Health and Social Care of Adjara, Zaal Mikeladze, other officials and the members of the staff of the legislative government.
Over one thousand GEL, accrued from this exhibition, will be spent on the needs of both day centers for the persons with disabilities.
The heads of the Tana Center and the Day Center, Nana Sakvarelidze and Maia Katamadze thanked the MPs for their support and warm hospitality.
At the end of the exhibition, the representatives of the Adjara Supreme Council presented the children with memorable gifts and candies.
