One person arrested for premeditated murder in Ozurgeti Municipality

Officers of the Guria Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia have arrested G.Ch., born in 2002, on charges of premeditated murder.

“As a result of the operative measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers on a hot pursuit, it has been established that the accused injured G.M., born in 1968, a neighbor living in one of the villages of Ozurgeti Municipality, in his own house with a cold weapon during a dispute and fled the scene. As a result of the injuries inflicted, G.M. died on the spot,” the MIA said.

According to them, as a result of the investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, G.Ch. was arrested as a suspect on a hot pursuit. The weapon used to commit the crime – a knife – has been seized as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Article 108 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.
