Moscow sentences Koba Khabazi to 13 years in prison and puts him on international wanted list

The Supreme Court of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic has sentenced Koba Khabazi in absentia to 13 years in prison. Russian media reports.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office of the so-called Donetsk Republic, he participated in hostilities on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“He underwent military training at training bases, was equipped with firearms, and until January 2026 participated in combat operations against the military personnel of the Russian Federation at various contact points. The mercenary’s remuneration for participation in the armed conflict exceeded 3.6 [125 thousand GEL] million rubles.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, Khabazi was sentenced in absentia to 13 years in prison, to serve the sentence in a strict regime penal colony,” the Russian prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Russian media reports that Khabazi is currently under international investigation.
