“Rukhadze also fled from Liberty Bank due to fear of sanctions. It was acquired by Basisbank. The pensions and social benefits of more than 1.5 million of our citizens will be distributed by a bank under Chinese control. A Chinese company will have personal data of 40 percent of the Georgian population. They did not sell TikTok to the Chinese in America for another reason. If there is anything good we want to see in this deal, it is that Liberty Bank has escaped the threat of sanctions.”
