Illegal firearms seized in Tbilisi and regions - four people arrested

Officers of the Patrol Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Tbilisi Police, Adjara Police and Guria Police Departments have arrested four people for the illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers seized various types of firearms and ammunition as evidence as a result of searches of the defendants' personal and residential homes, as well as their workshops.

The investigation is underway under Article 236 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for up to 7 years.
