Georgia has chosen a multi-vector policy - Maria Zakharova

Despite the harsh attempts of EU representatives to impose a course of confrontation with Moscow on Tbilisi and impose anti-Russian sanctions, Georgia has chosen a multi-vector policy, - says Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“[...] As for Georgia. Despite the well-known disagreements, we are trying to build relations with this country on the principles of pragmatism and equality. Taking into account the rich, positive, excellent and remarkable experience that we have had in the past.

Despite the brutal attempts of the representatives of the European Union to impose a course of confrontation with Moscow on Tbilisi, to impose anti-Russian sanctions and, simply put, to sacrifice its own interests for the political madness of the West, Georgia has made a choice in favor of a multi-vector policy.

Economic cooperation between our countries is actively expanding. Last year, trade turnover reached a record $ 2.7 billion. The flow of tourists from Russia amounted to 1.4 million people. Our country remains the most important export market for Georgia and at the same time the leading supplier of strategically important products - energy carriers and grain.

We are trying to create all the conditions for our For the development of humanitarian contacts between peoples united by common values, long-standing historical and cultural ties. [...]" - said Maria Zakharova.
