Electricity tariff increased
Electricity in Georgia has increased by 5 tetri. The calculation of electricity costs at the increased tariff will begin from April 1. The price of electricity has increased both in Tbilisi and in the regions.
If until now, subscribers living in Tbilisi consumed from 0 to 101 kilowatts of electricity every month and paid 15,041 tetri per kilowatt, from April 1 the tariff will increase to 20,041 tetri. For consumers of 101-301 kilowatt hours inclusive, the tariff will increase from 19,053 tetri to 24,053 tetri, and for consumers of electricity over 301 kilowatt hours, the tariff will increase from 23,537 tetri to 28,537 tetri.
Also, according to the decision of the Electricity Commission, the electricity tariff will increase for the commercial sector as well. The increase will be fixed by 5-6 tetri on average from April 1. In particular, according to the decision of the State Electricity Commission, for the commercial sector, the existing tariff for 110-35 sq m - 25.267 increased by 5.055 tetri and became 30.322. For 10-6-3.3 sq m, it also increased and instead of 27.880, it was determined by 34.632. As for the existing tariff for 380-220 sq m, instead of 28.961 tetri, it will be 35.731 tetri.
In the regions, the tariff for "EP Georgia" customers who consumed electricity from 0 to 101 kilowatts will increase from 15,041 tetri to 20,041 tetri, for customers consuming 101-301 kilowatt hours inclusive, the tariff will increase from 19,053 tetri to 24,053 tetri, and for customers consuming more than 301 kilowatts, the tariff will increase from 23,537 tetri to 28,537 tetri.
The decision to increase the electricity tariff was supposed to be made by the Georgian Electricity Commission in December last year, but it postponed the decision.
Today, the temporary tariff expired. For information, the electricity tariff in Tbilisi previously ranged from 15 to 23 tetri, and in the regions - from 14 to 23 tetri.
It was determined at the meeting that the decisions made for all sectors will be effective from April 1, 2026, until January 1, 2031.
