Mikheil Kavelashvili held a face-to-face meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
The Georgian Presidential Administration reported this.
According to them, the meeting focused on the high level of strategic partnership between the two countries and successful cooperation in various fields.
As Mikheil Kavelashvili noted during the meeting, maintaining the strong strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan at a high level and its multifaceted development is a priority for Georgia.
During the face-to-face meeting, it was emphasized that against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical processes, when the international order is fundamentally changing, maintaining stability and peace in the region is gaining increasing importance.
Mikheil Kavelashvili thanked the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
He also thanked Ilham Aliyev for his visit to the Georgian Embassy in Baku and his sincere condolences on the death of His Holiness, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
After the meeting, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev left a note in the Book of Honored Guests.
The meeting was held at the Palace of the President of Georgia.
