Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has written an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, offering a personal meeting to end the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to implement a complete ceasefire during the negotiations, as well as to exchange prisoners of war on the principle of “all for all” and take steps to return civilians and children taken to Russia during the war.

“Enough of the war. Ukraine offers to end this war. I offer a meeting. There are countries that traditionally host talks on war and peace. Switzerland, Turkey, countries of the Arab world — many are ready to accept such a meeting,” Zelensky wrote.

According to the Ukrainian president, the war is the personal choice of the Russian leader and history will remember him as “a war without a real reason.”

At the same time, Zelensky claims that Russia’s resources are dwindling, and discontent with the war is growing in Russian society. According to him, Russians do not like the drone and missile strikes, the shortage of gasoline, the rise in prices, the prospect of a new wave of mobilization, and the fact that the end of the war is not in sight.

Zelensky also said that Ukraine will retain its independence and will continue to receive international support, while sanctions against Russia will continue until justice is restored for Ukraine.

“If you personally do not come to the conclusion that it is time to end this war, Ukraine will continue to fight for its existence. We will have those who will support us,” the Ukrainian president noted.

At the end of the open letter, Zelensky urged Putin “not to be afraid to withdraw from the war,” because, in his opinion, this is the main thing that is expected of him today.
