The signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Georgia and the People's Republic of China is an event of special importance for our country in both political and economic terms, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at today's briefing.
As the Head of Government noted, since the Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed 3 years ago, relations between the two countries have developed very dynamically.
“In the past 6 months alone, the Prime Minister of Georgia, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, and 5 ministers visited China. Each of these visits was focused on specific results. In total, since 2023, 14 major international agreements have been signed between Georgia and China, and 6 agreements are at the final stage of discussion;
In 2024, trade turnover between Georgia and China increased by 17%, in 2025 by 21%, and in January-April 2026 - by 45%.
Today, China ranks 3rd among Georgia’s trading partners in terms of total trade and 2nd in terms of exports of Georgian products,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
